It has been proven that knowledge is well retained when learning involves applying the theories being taught, or when the learners do hands-on training. Checks and Evaluations
Knowledge checks and assessments are part and parcel of our elearning content development. These are low-stress assessment tools that measure the knowledge levels of the learners before and after the training. These checks provide awareness for the learners of how much they have learned from the materials as well as what gaps they need to work on. Notwithstanding how often checks and assessments are done, the objective is to gauge the effectiveness of the elearning materials. This will help us fine-tune the materials themselves if and when needed to help the learners totally understand the training materials.
Some of the knowledge checks and assessments that can be used include but are not limited to the following: multiple choice, scenarios, fill in the blanks, and matching type. You can also specify the parameters by using the following: passing score, require passing score to continue, quiz retries, randomised questions, shuffled answer choices, feedback on correct and incorrect answers, and many more.
If your organisation has a learning management system, the results of the assessments can be recorded and kept there if it is enabled. Note that periodic knowledge checks are not.
